No. 04.i · New Baby

Flowers for the arrival.

Composed for the parents, the sibling, the grandparent — and the hospital room that needs a softer light.

What the studio composes.

The arrival of a child is a moment composed of a hundred small ones — the call, the drive, the first night home. The arrangement we send for this moment is restrained: soft blush, ivory, the palest yellow, with a register that does not crowd a tired room.

We work with garden roses in pale blush and cream, ranunculus in butter, sweet pea, lisianthus, the smallest white anemones, and quiet greens. The vessels are smaller than our standard work — designed to sit on a bedside table or a kitchen counter without taking the room.

We compose for the parents (most often), for grandparents (in scale), and for older siblings (in their own small piece, separately). Hospital deliveries are common — we know the rules at the Sacramento hospitals and deliver within them.

The work, by moment.

Sent to a hospital room on the day of the arrival, to the parents' home in the first week, to a grandparent traveling in, or to an older sibling who needs their own piece. We work with the local Sacramento-region hospitals — Mercy, Sutter, Kaiser, UC Davis — and observe their delivery rules.

How an order arrives.

Step 01

The brief.

Call the studio or write. Tell us who the arrangement is for, where to send it, and when it needs to arrive. A short note for the card if you have the words. If you do not, we will help.

Step 02

The composition.

The studio composes the work by hand the day of delivery. We work with what is exceptional in the week — never from a default. The vessel is part of the composition.

Step 03

The delivery.

Hand-delivered by the studio with a handwritten card. Unmarked van, plain dress, discreet. We will not announce the sender unless you ask.

New-baby arrangements begin at $165 — sized small for hospital rooms and bedside tables. Larger home-arrival pieces compose to $385.

Frequently considered.

What does a new-baby arrangement begin at?

New-baby compositions begin at $165 and are intentionally sized small — for a bedside table, a kitchen counter, a hospital room that already has too much in it. Larger home-arrival pieces compose to $385.

Do you deliver to Sacramento-region hospitals?

Yes — Mercy, Sutter, Kaiser, UC Davis, and the regional maternity wards. We observe their delivery rules (no balloons, no scent-heavy stems, plain vessels). Tell us the hospital and the room number if you have it; we route to the floor's front desk if not.

Can the arrangement be sent before the parents come home?

Often, yes. Some parents prefer the piece be waiting on the kitchen counter when they walk in — call the studio and we will coordinate delivery for the morning of the discharge.

Can older siblings receive their own arrangement?

Yes. A small piece for an older sibling, delivered separately with their name on the card, is a quiet gesture we are often asked for. Pricing begins at $85 for a child's piece.

Do you ship outside the Sacramento region?

Fresh new-baby arrangements are local — Sacramento region by hand. For out-of-state arrivals, our Heritage line is more durable and ships nationally; for a one-time fresh piece, we are happy to recommend a studio in that city we have worked with before.

What if the family asked for no gifts?

We will not deliver against a family's stated wish. If you are uncertain whether they would welcome flowers, write or call us and we will help you read the situation. A meal, a stocked freezer, a quiet card — these are sometimes the right work and we will say so.
